"Mazel Tov, Libby!" is the first segment of the sixth episode of the first season of The Ghost and Molly McGee, and the eleventh episode overall.
Synopsis
When Molly discovers her best friend didn't even go close to big on the biggest day of life, Molly takes charge to throw Libby the best Bat Mitzvah ever.[5]
Plot
Molly gets an invitation to Libby's Bat Mitzvah which she is happy to be able to attend, as well as Scratch, though he thinks it has to do with literal bats. Molly and Scratch look up videos on Bat Mitzvahs and are overwhelmed by the stylistic and high quality nature of them. When they arrive at the ceremony for the weekend, they are disappointed to see that it is a mostly empty, save for Libby's extended family, turtle themed and has very little entertainment value. Libby is nevertheless excited to see Molly there and wants to do a turtle race later. Molly overhears Ms. Stein-Torres talk about how difficult business has been at the bookstore, convincing Molly that they could not afford a high quality ceremony and resolves to fix this problem.
While the Stein-Torres family are distracted, Molly and Scratch proceed to rearrange and redesign the dance hall. Scratch brings in bats, though Molly puts them away in a broom closet. She calls her family; Sharon to do the art for the ceremony, Pete to be the DJ and Darryl to bring the guests in, which he does via performing a conga line. When Libby comes back, she is shocked by the abundance of guests and deduces that Molly was behind it. Despite this, she pushes forward with the ceremony. Molly tries to prevent Scratch from ruining with the bats, but various other interruptions cause her to ignore Libby who is nervous from all the people staring at her.
After Libby runs away from performing a Hora, as she finds such a practice of the tradition stressful, Molly finds her crying alone in the backroom. A furious Libby berates her for only thinking about herself and not what she wanted, which was to simply spend time with her. She suddenly realizes that she feels like a woman already as Molly apologizes and releases the bats on the guests so that they will all leave. Afterwards, Molly takes part in the Stein-Torres family's tradition of turtle racing. Libby commends Molly for taking responsibility for her actions and tells her that she will be a woman someday. Meanwhile, Scratch is dealing with the bats that are now attacking him.

Trivia
- Morals:
- Being a friend means respecting your friends' boundaries instead of trying to force them out of their shell.
- You should speak up if someone is doing something that makes you uncomfortable, even if they're a friend.
- This is the first Disney animated series episode to show a Bat Mitzvah.[6]
- Bar and Bat Mitzvahs were previously shown with the Andi Mack episode "Cyrus' Bash-Mitzvah!", the Raven's Home episode "American Torah Story" and the Sydney to the Max episode "The Bat Mitzvah Planner", respectively.
- Libby's family is shown for the first time where it's revealed that her mother is single due to her divorce with Matias Torres and that her grandparents have already passed away.
- Pete is shown to be a competent DJ.
- This is the second episode to have a title card with Molly not wearing her normal clothes. Instead, she is wearing a glittery blue dress with lavender leggings and purple shoes, her dress for the Bat Mitzvah.
- The first episode where Molly wears a different outfit on the title card was "The (Un)natural".
- This is the first episode where Libby's surname was revealed, as well as the first to mention her Judaism.
- Although Libby's age was not revealed, it is likely that she turned 12 years old as of this episode, because girls have their Bat Mitzvah on their 12th birthdays.
- In the song, Scratch said he was "converting" for the sake of the food he imagined would be at the Bat Mitzvah. What religion he was before he died has yet to be explored, but considering his viewpoint on reality, he was most likely agnostic or an atheist, and he might still be, on account that the party was "deader than (him)" when he and Molly actually arrived for the occasion.
- Dana Snyder and Lara Jill Miller who respectively voice Scratch and Libby are Jewish in real-life.
Continuity
- Sharon is still using Gig Pig from "Mama's Gotta Hustle", yet is also putting her art skills to good use as her mother suggested in "The Best of Nin-tensions".
Errors
- Despite not having the physical nor virtual keyboard on Molly's tablet, the keyboard typing sound effects can be heard.
