Matias Torres is a writer and the father of Libby Stein-Torres. He's shown to be very caught up in his fame and books that he doesn't make any time for his daughter. He does seem to still care for her, but it's made clear focusing on his book is more important to him currently.

He is very neglectful as he had forgotten about Libby's bat mitzvah, being too obsessed with his book, and also shattering Libby's dreams of being with him because he's more focused on his book than her. However, it seems that he still cares about Libby to an extent, as he mailed her a belated bat mitzvah gift, though it's clear not a lot of thought went into it.

He's a tall man of Argentinian descent who has tan skin and messy hair. He's seen wearing a suit jacket with an undershirt. He also wears a belt, brown pants and a brown watch. He has slight wrinkles under his eyes.
