Synopsis
When the McGee's vacation gets canceled, Molly creates a staycation instead.[1]
Plot
The McGees and Scratch are getting ready for their trip to the weather themed park, Sunnyland and make plans to spend the entire week trying out all the rides and attractions. Unfortunately, they get a news update revealing that a freak rainstorm has flooded the park, thus cancelling their trip. The McGees and Scratch are severely saddened by the news, but Molly, the ever optimist, refuses to give up and overnight loosely constructs the house into a makeshift Sunnyland. Scratch and the McGees are happy with the staycation and Molly coerces Scratch to be an "employee" for her and in return he can have his pick at the employee sundae bar.
The staycation ends up being a success with Molly and Scratch running homemade rides that please the rest of the family. At the end of the day, Darryl exclaims that he wonders what Molly will do tomorrow, causing her to remember that they planned a week long vacation. The next day, Scratch notices that Molly was up all night trying to build more rides and set everything up and grows concerned for her. Molly and Scratch manage to get the rides up and running and even though the family is still happy, Molly becomes overworked and tired. She even gets Libby to come over and help, only for her to get sucked in by the rides as well.
Molly continues to try and run the homemade Sunnyland, but an accident causes her to accidentally flood the whole house and declare the whole staycation ruined. This makes the other McGees, Scratch, and Libby realize how hard Molly had been pushing herself to make them happy and they are immediately filled with guilt for not even noticing. Molly awakens to discover everyone taking care of her. Her family and Libby apologize for the fact that they didn’t realize that Molly was putting so much effort into making them happy that she wasn't having any fun. Wanting her to have just as much fun, they spend the rest of the day recreating the rides, but this time with Molly riding alongside them. Pete attempts to sing the Sunnyland theme song, but Molly tells him to stop and just have them all enjoy the rides peacefully.
