Nin Suksai is a recurring character from The Ghost and Molly McGee. She is the mother of Sharon McGee, the mother-in-law of Pete McGee, and the maternal grandmother of Molly and Darryl McGee.

She is a Thai-American woman with short gray hair and dark brown almond-shaped eyes of short stature.

She wears a pink jacket, white shirt and yellow jeans. She wears circular glasses with brown frames. She also wears a gold necklace medallion with a red gem on it, and gold diamond-shaped earrings.

Personality

Grandma Nin is a wise though somewhat quirky old woman, who knows more about anything than the rest of her family, especially when it comes to ghosts, which she shows no fear of, because haunted houses are a common thing in Thailand. She doesn't have the best communication skills, though, especially when it comes to her daughter Sharon, especially when it came to the Law School vs. Art School misunderstanding and the fact that no matter how often Sharon tries to correct her, she thinks that being a "gig pig" is the American equal to selling pork in the market. Nin is a very headstrong person, however, and a bit of a rebel, as she admits to sneaking her own snacks into movie theaters.

Background

Grandma Nin was born in Thailand, where she used to own a restaurant. She is not shocked when she meets Scratch due to her knowledge of the supernatural. In fact, giving Scratch his own little home inside the McGee household (and giving him food and drinks to keep him happy) was her idea, based on a concept in Thai tradition.

Trivia

• The animation/writing team really did their research on Thai culture when creating her character, as Grandma Nin's knowledge of it is incredibly accurate.
• She used to own her own Thai restaurant (much to the dismay of her own daughter) before retiring, though she could still make meals in high quality AND quantity in a short amount of time.
• She and Scratch have a mutual bond despite the long distance between them, for just as Scratch calls Nin his "favorite (McGee) family member" (mainly for her snacks), Grandma Nin calls Scratch her "favorite ghost". This may or may not indicate that she actually encountered the ghosts living in Thailand before coming to America and/or after she came to America, and that she sees the good in him just as much as her granddaughter Molly does.
• She's revealed to have a sister in "100% Molly McGee," who (at least once) called Nin "too American" after [Nin] left Thailand to move to the United States.
• She and Jeff are the only one of Scratch’s friends to not see him off at the end of The End.
