"Fit to Print" is the second segment of the fifteenth episode of the second season of The Ghost and Molly McGee, and the sixty-eighth episode overall.
It premiered on October 28, 2023 simultaneously on Disney Channel and Disney XD, alongside "Welcome to NecroComic-Con".[1]
Synopsis[]
When the school newspaper is in danger of shutting down, Molly goes on a mission to save it.
Plot[]
Libby announces that the school's paper, the Brighton Bugle, is shutting down. Molly then vigorously announces her intent to revive it, despite only having just heard about it that moment, and joins the club by becoming editor in chief. She recruits Andrea to write about fashion and style, Sheela to cover sports, and Nashua to write about the food cafeteria, of which he is an expert on. Molly gives Libby and Scratch, arguably, the most important job, investigative stories. In order to keep the paper afloat, Molly looks for investors, eventually getting help from Miss Fiamma, the owner of Flavor Burger, known for their Turnip Burgers.
Libby and Scratch go around the school looking for a interesting or enigmatic story, but fall short, only landing into trouble everywhere they go. Molly is disappointed with all the stories and is afraid of the paper shutting down, until she gets her order of Flavor Burger and has Nashua try the Turnip Burger, finding it quite delicious. The kids decide to have this be their main story, but Libby and Scratch are baffled as the turnip burgers were notoriously terrible. They head to Flavor Burger and look through the back window to see that Miss Fiamma is not putting turnips into the turnip burgers, but Perfektborg parsnips in them instead.
The rest of the kids are shocked to learn the truth and Molly now faces a moral dilemma. Sit on the story so that they can maintain Flavor Burger's funding and keep the paper afloat, or print the story and risk losing their business and shutting the paper down. After some advice, Molly ends up picking the latter which sends all of Brighton, sans Sharon, into an uproar. Molly did the right thing, but tells the rest of her friends that they sadly have to shut the paper down, that is until various other businesses show up to offer up their funding, thanks in part to Joanie Pataky suddenly being the number two journalist. Molly and her friends celebrate their win, though are still reminded by Mr. Pham to keep their enthusiasm to a dull roar, so they do.
