"A Very Hungry Ghost" is the second segment of the fourteenth episode of the first season of The Ghost and Molly McGee, and the twenty-eighth episode overall.
Synopsis
When the McGee’s celebrate a Thai holiday about feeding “hungry ghosts,” Scratch tries to keep the feast all to himself.
Plot
Molly, Darryl, and Grandma Nin are preparing for the Thai festival titled Sart Duan Sib, which is where Thai people honor their ancestors by serving them offerings in the form of food. Scratch is under the impression only *he* is fed, but Nin clarifies he has to bring at least one more ghost... which Scratch calls for the help of Geoff. Scratch has to tell him not to tell anyone else about this.
Nin's wording of "best kitchen helpers" spark a sibling rivalry between Molly and Darryl. As night falls and the food is served, Geoff arrives... with a whole group of ghosts from the Ghost Realm. Scratch is peeved at Geoff for telling everyone. Soon afterward, everyone starts eating, leaving Scratch with hardly anything. Upon seeing this, the McGees ramp up production of the food, and they and Scratch express their frustration on the sibling rivalry between Molly and Darryl and Scratch's inability to cop food.
Scratch finally gets food just as he is sucked into the Ghost Realm, where he is summoned before the Ghost Council, who also want in on the dinner. As they enter the human world, the other ghosts leave; seeing Scratch's plight, him being taken away if the food isn't that good and if they find out he's friends with a human, Molly, who decides to work hard - and with Darryl - for Scratch. Working together allows the duo to finish faster; the Council, liking the food, leaves the human world and Scratch, telling him they have confidence (but not in his apparent misspelling of "scare") The McGees are exhausted and Scratch is about to eat up, but no food is left, making him cry in exasperation; to cheer him up, Nin offers to order pizza. Scratch askes for Pineapple.

Trivia
- The credits reveal the names of the Ghost Council to be Lucretia, Sir Alister, Bartholomew, and Grimbella.
- The episode marks the first time Molly had seen the Ghost Council.
- While every other ghost who attended the Thai food festival had been eating with their hands, the Ghost Council had eaten their share with chopsticks, which are considered tacky in Thailand despite their use in other Asian cultures. This mirrors their shared personality traits, as the council members are upper class ghosts that think they are doing the right thing, when in truth they are not.
- The Chairman doesn't really eat anything, and just (as Scratch pointed out) "sits there looking creepy". This foreshadows the fact that the chairman doesn't eat human food, and prefers the taste of misery itself.
Continuity
- Various ghosts such as Abraham Lincoln, Ezekiel Tugbottom, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Sally Tugbottom reappear from previous episodes.
